Indonesian shoppers pay in many ways: bank transfer to a virtual account, e-wallets, QRIS, convenience-store counters and cards. Midtrans puts all of them behind one checkout. This guide covers using the Midtrans add-on on a self-hosted BidKing or PrizeX site, including payments that complete after the customer has left, plus pricing in rupiah and a Bahasa Indonesia storefront.
What Midtrans covers
The Midtrans add-on, available from Add-ons in your admin panel, opens Midtrans's Snap checkout over your payment page. Snap shows whichever payment methods you've switched on in your Midtrans account, such as virtual-account bank transfers, e-wallets, QRIS, convenience stores and cards, so the choice is managed in Midtrans, not in BidKing.
How a payment is confirmed
- Instant payments. When a card or instant payment succeeds, the customer's browser reports back. The site then asks Midtrans for the transaction's real status before crediting anything.
- Payments that complete later. With a virtual-account transfer or a convenience-store payment, the customer often pays minutes or hours after closing Snap. The add-on registers a notification address with every payment, and Midtrans calls it when the payment completes. The site checks the notification's signature with your server key, asks Midtrans for the real status again, and only then credits the payment. A card payment whose browser closed too soon is caught the same way.
- No double crediting. Whether the browser or the notification arrives first, the payment is settled once, and the second one does nothing.
- Amount and currency checked. A payment is credited only if it matches the amount and currency that were asked for.
- If something is still pending, use Check with gateway on Payment requests in the admin. It asks Midtrans about that payment and settles it if it's complete and matches.
Setup
- Create a Midtrans account, and switch on the payment methods you want in its dashboard.
- Enter your keys. On the Midtrans gateway in the admin, enter your Client Key and Server Key, and choose sandbox or production.
- Test in sandbox first. Try a card payment and a virtual-account payment, including one where you close Snap and pay afterwards, and check that each is credited.
- Notifications need nothing from you. The address is sent with every payment, so there's nothing to register. Your site does need HTTPS and must be reachable from the internet.
Pricing in rupiah
- Set the store currency to IDR under Settings › Regional. Midtrans charges in rupiah, and payments are credited only when the currency matches the store's, so don't use Midtrans on a store priced in another currency.
- Whole rupiah. Midtrans takes whole rupiah, so any amount with decimals is rounded up to the next rupiah.
- Coin price: if your site uses a coin wallet, set what one coin is worth in rupiah. Keep lot prices, bid steps and Buy Now prices in round numbers.
A Bahasa Indonesia storefront

Legal and practical checks
- Gambling is prohibited in Indonesia. Ordinary auctions of goods are sales, but paid-bid formats, raffles and paid prize games can be treated as gambling. Don't run them for Indonesian users without clear legal advice. The operator is responsible for compliance, so check with a local lawyer before launch.
- Payment providers have their own rules about what you may sell. Check Midtrans's terms for your business type.
- Age. BidKing limits sign-up to 18 and over.
